2. Instruct other caregivers to feed baby at the optimal time, most appropriate temperature and correct feeding angle to help ensure baby's healthy growth.
3. Share all baby's feeding and growth data with family and pediatricians to create a health record and journal for baby's growth.

Which age is BlueSmart mia suitable for?

While BlueSmart mia is suitable for all babies during their nursing period, it's most suitable for babies under two because this is when scientific feeding is most critical to baby's growth.

How does BlueSmart mia work?

You can use BlueSmart mia on most kinds of baby bottles. Simply put the BlueSmart mia smart sleeve on the baby bottle and it'll start monitoring all data during the feeding process, including amount, temperature, angle and duration. All this data will be sent to the cloud through BlueSmart mia's built-in WiFi, enabling you and registered caregivers to access the latest and historical feeding data on the BlueSmart app anytime, anywhere. In addition, BlueSmart mia can also remind caregivers to feed baby at the right time, temperature and angle.

What kind of baby bottles can BlueSmart mia be used on?

BlueSmart mia's industrial design fits a variety of popular baby bottles. For optimal performance, we recommend using the following baby bottles with BlueSmart mia:

Note: BlueSmart mia does not limit the height and volume of the bottle, but there might be some inconvenience if the bottle is too wide (diameter≥66mm) or too narrow (diameter≤53.5mm).

Where is BlueSmart mia designed and produced?

BlueSmart mia was designed in San Francisco, CA, U.S. and assembled in Taiwan by the world-renowned foundry Jabil Circuit, Inc. BlueSmart mia is the first smart baby and maternal product of BlueSmart Technology Corp., a high-tech company based in Silicon Valley, U.S.

Can I give my BlueSmart mia to others when my baby outgrows the device?

Of course you can! Simply remove the device on your BlueSmart app by tapping Sidebar > Device > Remove Device before giving it to someone else to use.

Can I use several BlueSmart mia devices for my baby? Can one device be used by several babies? Can I manage feeding data of several babies in one BlueSmart app?

Only one baby can use one BlueSmart mia at the same time, and the device can only record feeding data of one baby. But you can manage feeding data of several babies in one BlueSmart app.
To do so, you must create different baby profiles by tapping a plus sign on the right side of your baby's avatar on the profile page. The feeding data on the BlueSmart app's interface is about the baby in the avatar displayed on the top left corner of your smartphone screen.

What is the story behind this product?

The BlueSmart team is comprised of mothers and fathers, who also happen to be technologists. As parents, we know that nothing is more important than the health and happiness of our little ones … and we also know that we can't always be side-by-side with our babies, every minute of every day.
Being away from our children, whether we're at the office for a few hours or away from them for a day or two (or longer), can lead to stress and anxiety and (let's be honest), wondering if others are caring for our little ones in the ways that we would. We found this to be especially true when we were new parents and saw ourselves constantly "checking in" on one of the most critical components of our babies' development – their feeding.
It's those real-life experiences that drove us on our mission to create a technological innovation designed to make every member of the family happier and enhance the way parents and caretakers feed their infants. That's how BlueSmart mia was born.

What are BlueSmart mia's return, exchange and refund policies?

Returns
Our policy lasts 14 days. If 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Additional non-returnable items:
Gift cards.

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable).

Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.

Any item that is returned more than 14 days after delivery.

Refunds

Safety and Security

Is BlueSmart mia safe for babies?

Safety is the first priority of the BlueSmart team in designing and manufacturing BlueSmart mia. Having acquired the FCC, CE, SRRC and CPSC certification, BlueSmart mia is a very safe product. In particular, the rubber used in BlueSmart mia is food-grade natural silicone rubber, which is very similar to the material of a pacifier. In addition, all the plastic and dye used in BlueSmart mia are food grade materials.

How do I wash BlueSmart mia? Is it waterproof?

The BlueSmart mia device and wireless charger have different waterproof ratings. The BlueSmart mia device (sleeve) is rated to the IPX7 waterproofing standard, while the wireless charger isn't waterproof. Please do not get any liquid on the wireless charger. You can wash BlueSmart mia device with water and rinse it with hot water for one minute for disinfection. The silicone rubber sleeve can be put into dishwasher and sterilizer, or can be steamed or boiled. You can clean the wireless charger with a soft cloth.

Where is BlueSmart mia's feeding data saved? What precautions are there for data security?

All your BlueSmart mia's feeding data is saved in BlueSmart Technology Corp.'s database in the U.S. The data is protected by the Personal Privacy Protection Act of the Federal Government of the United States, and we have also adopted many effective measures to provide data security so that you don't have to worry about disclosure of your baby's feeding data. Meanwhile, we suggest that you keep your user name and password private and be cautious when inviting others as caregivers.

Why is no power converter included with the BlueSmart mia?

The BlueSmart mia does not include a power converter because you can charge your BlueSmart mia with standard USB power converter or any connector carrying standard USB power output function. You should charge your BlueSmart mia with charging voltage and current of 5V and 1-2A respectively, otherwise, the device's life cycle may be affected, even posing a safety hazard.

Is BlueSmart mia suitable for breastfed babies?

Yes. BlueSmart mia promotes breast milk as the best for your baby's growth. When you need to feed your baby with breast milk in a baby bottle, BlueSmart mia can help you monitor time, temperature, amount and angle of all baby's feedings. This feeding data can be displayed on your BlueSmart app.

Is there any requirements for my baby's formula brand and stage?

BlueSmart mia works with any brand formula. There are some standard formula brands and stages in your BlueSmart app, and you can also add your own in the app.

How do I place an order?

Orders can be placed by pressing the Pre-Order Now button on the front page navigation. Once you have selected the color, proceed by clicking "Add to cart". Then, go to your cart and select a payment method. Once the payment goes through you will receive an email confirmation!

Which countries can I place orders?

Currently, the countries and areas that we are able to ship to are: USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Germany, China, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea.

How do I track my order?

Once your item has been shipped, you can track your order by checking your email for the shipment notification for the tracking number. If you cannot find the email, please contact us through live chat or email.

How do I cancel/edit my order?

Canceling and editing orders can be done only if the item has not been shipped yet. If you would like to cancel or edit an order, please contact us through live chat.

What kind of payments do you accept?

How do I setup a new BlueSmart mia?

It's very easy to set up a new BlueSmart mia.
1. Download the BlueSmart app
2. Follow the instructions in the app to sign in and connect your BlueSmart mia to WiFi
3. Follow the instructions in the app to input your baby's information. Then you're ready to begin using BlueSmart mia.

How does BlueSmart mia measure the amount of each portion? Is it accurate?

BlueSmart mia can measure the amount of the portion without making contact, which is our most powerful proprietary technology.
During two years of research, we consulted many teams of scientists and developed portion measurement through an acoustic approach. This is a new patent not just for baby products but for the world as it's the first time acoustics has been used to measure volume of liquid.
Here's how to activate portion measurement:
Use the spoon or the cover of the baby bottle to click twice on the bottle rim. BlueSmart mia will automatically calculate the volume according to the sound it hears. Normally, the measuring error is about 5ml.
Make sure that when you're using different types of baby bottles, you select the type you're using each time in the app. There are many kinds of baby bottles you can choose in the BlueSmart app. If the bottle you're using isn't in the app, however, you can also follow the instructions to create one.
If you find that even when you've chosen the right bottle in the app, the measurements are still often wrong, you can also calibrate the measuring algorithm in the app according to the instructions.

Why not use other methods to measure the portion, such as weighing?

The biggest problem of weighing is that we cannot make BlueSmart mia waterproof. All waterproof weighing methods will lead to a measuring error of 50ml or above. If BlueSmart mia isn't waterproof, it'll be difficult to wash and sterilize, which no one wants for the baby's health.
We also tried using optics and capacitance to measure the portion, however, these methods didn't succeed due to the fact that BlueSmart mia is separate from the baby bottle and that the feeding environment isn't suitable. We've researched every possible scientific method over the past two years and we're certain that using acoustics is the best approach.

Does BlueSmart mia have heat preservation function?

BlueSmart mia can preserve the temperature of the portion to a certain degree due to the insulating effect of the silicone rubber sleeve. Lab tests show that BlueSmart mia can reduce the temperature loss of a constant portion amount by 3ºC to 5ºC at room temperature. Therefore, BlueSmart mia can help keep the portion at the optimal temperature if the baby cannot finish it in one feeding. However, it cannot keep the portion at a constant temperature. It's designed to keep baby safer as a heating function might add the risks of scalding or increased radiation.

How do I wash BlueSmart mia? Is it waterproof?

The BlueSmart mia device and wireless charger have different waterproof ratings. The BlueSmart mia device (sleeve) is rated to the IPX7 waterproofing standard, while the wireless charger isn't waterproof. Please do not get any liquid on the wireless charger. How long will BlueSmart mia's battery last? How do I recharge BlueSmart mia? How long does it take to fully charge the battery?

BlueSmart mia can be used for three to four days on a single full charge (if you feed your baby five to 10 times a day for about 20 minutes each time). BlueSmart mia has standby time of 15 days in sleep mode.
Please recharge BlueSmart mia if the battery drops to 30%. It's very easy to recharge the device. Plug your BlueSmart mia charger into a USB adapter and then put BlueSmart mia on the charger. It'll take about four hours to fully charge the battery. Once the battery is fully recharged, the device will automatically stop charging. You can put BlueSmart mia on the charging mat when not in use to ensure sufficient power.

How does BlueSmart mia measure the temperature? Is it accurate? How does BlueSmart mia set an appropriate feeding temperature?

The temperature indicator will light up when you put the baby bottle on BlueSmart mia. The device measures the temperature at the bottom of the baby bottle through infrared technology, just like an ear thermometer.
BlueSmart mia's measuring error is less than 1℃. By default, temperatures of 95℉/35℃ to 107.6℉/42℃ will be perfect to feed baby. In the range of 95℉/35℃ to 107.6℉/42℃, the indicator light will turn green. When the temperature is higher than 107.6℉/42℃, the indicator light will turn red. When the temperature is lower than 95℉/35℃, the indicator light will turn blue.
BlueSmart mia will record the temperatures when you start feeding and upload them to the cloud, enabling you to view feeding details. Please note that BlueSmart mia measures the temperature at the bottom of the baby bottle. There may be errors with the temperature of the liquid in the middle or top of the bottle, so please shake the baby bottle or wait for over one minute to ensure the safety of your baby.

How does BlueSmart mia measure the feeding angle? What kind of alerts are given?

Keep in mind, it's important to hold a bottle at the right angle because an improper feeding angle may lead to baby choking or getting gas. BlueSmart mia measures feeding angle through a built-in motion sensor. The DROP light will turn red if the feeding angle is improper, and it will be off if the feeding angle is healthy. BlueSmart mia will record feeding angle and upload it to cloud server, enabling you to view the feeding details.

Can BlueSmart mia recognize different types of liquids automatically?

With a built-in color sensor, BlueSmart mia is designed to automatically recognize milk (breast milk and milk powder solution) and water. But because it's affected by ambient light and baby bottles' colors, our current algorithm isn't always accurate. Rest assured, we're working hard on this and will remind you of firmware update once our device can recognize different types of liquids. At present, BlueSmart mia can only be used for feeding milk. Please do not use BlueSmart mia to feed water.

How do I turn the BlueSmart mia on and off?

To turn your new BlueSmart mia on, insert the power on/off pin into the small hole on the bottom of the device, press it and then release it. BlueSmart mia will automatically power on when you place it on the charger.
When the BlueSmart mia has been inactive for more than one minute, the device will enter sleep mode. Pick up or shake BlueSmart mia to awaken it.
Once the device is awakened, its temperature indicator will light up when you insert your baby bottle. If the temperature indicator fails to light up when you insert baby bottle and shake it, please recharge the device or change the baby bottle.
If you take BlueSmart mia when you go out or carry it with you on a plane, please turn it off by pressing the small hole on the bottom of the device with the power on/off pin. When the device is turned off, the temperature indicator will not light up if you place the baby bottle on the device or cover the two holes on the removable indicator with your fingers and shake it.

Can I give my BlueSmart mia to others when my baby outgrows the device?

Of course you can! Simply remove the device on your BlueSmart app by tapping Sidebar > Device > Remove Device before giving it to someone else to use.

App

Where to download the app?

Download the BlueSmart app before using the device by scanning the QR code on the packing box, at BlueSmartmia.com, or at the App Store or Google Play. The BlueSmart app supports iOS 8.0 and above devices and Android 4.0 and above devices.

How do I connect BlueSmart mia to WiFi? Can the device record a known WiFi network automatically?

If you need to use BlueSmart mia under a new WiFi network, or you've changed the name and password of the known WiFi network, you need to reset the WiFi connection for the device. To do this, tap Sidebar > Device > Change WiFi in the BlueSmart app. The device can automatically record up to five known WiFi networks.

Does BlueSmart mia support Bluetooth?

BlueSmart mia does not support Bluetooth because the device is often used when moms are not with their babies. BlueSmart mia can help caregivers feed babies and upload related feeding data to the cloud, allowing family members to track baby's feedings anywhere.

How does BlueSmart mia send a feeding reminder?

You can view and reset feeding schedule in the BlueSmart app, and the BlueSmart mia's DROP indicator will light up when it's time to feed your baby.
After shining for one minute or when BlueSmart mia is picked up, the DROP indicator will go out automatically. BlueSmart app will also send a feeding reminder. (You can enable or disable the reminder in the settings).

When we're in different time zones, is the feeding time data displayed on the BlueSmart app based on my time zone or that of my baby?

The time of the feeding data and log data on your smartphone app is based on the time zone in which your BlueSmart mia is located. When the device's time zone is changed, the time on the BlueSmart app of all your baby's caregivers will be updated according to the time zone in which the device is located as soon as your BlueSmart mia is connected to WiFi.

Can BlueSmart mia be used when not connected to WiFi?

As long as BlueSmart mia is set up successfully, you can use its other functions, such as temperature alert, feeding reminder and angle alert, even when there is no WiFi connection. This data can be saved in BlueSmart mia for as long as one month, and will be uploaded to your smartphone app as soon as your BlueSmart mia is connected to WiFi. The only function you cannot use without WiFi is the feeding data syncing.

Can BlueSmart mia be used outdoors?

Yes, you can use it outdoors. When there's no WiFi, feeding data cannot be uploaded to your smartphone app in real-time, but it will be saved in BlueSmart mia and uploaded immediately after the device is connected to WiFi.

Can I invite my family members or babysitters to share feeding data? Is there a limit on the number of people I can share with? Can I remove invited caregivers?

You can invite your family members or babysitters to share your baby's feeding data through the BlueSmart app. You just need to invite others by tapping your baby's avatar and the "caregiver" button successively. The BlueSmart app does not have limitation on the number of invited caregivers. To remove a caregiver, tap your baby's avatar > Caregiver > Delete buttons and he/she will no longer be able to see the data.

How can I share my baby's feeding and growth data with pediatricians?

You can share your baby's feeding and growth data with pediatricians so that they can better keep track of your baby's health and growth as well as offering more specific suggestions on feeding. To do so, tap the export button in the BlueSmart app's history data and follow related instructions to share feeding data. Only the data you choose to share can be seen by your pediatrician.

How does BlueSmart mia set up a feeding schedule for my baby? How can I modify it?

After setting up your BlueSmart mia, you can check the initial feeding schedule from the information sidebar on the app's home page. The schedule is based on your baby's age and BlueSmart mia's feeding database. You can modify it anytime by tapping the "feeding schedule" button on the feeding page. We suggest that you set up an optimal feeding plan based on recommendations of your pediatrician or formula manufacturers.
